Gracie's 1st Birthday!

Well, yesterday we celebrated Gracie's big first birthday!  It was sad not having family here, but we had great friends and a wonderful evening!

Gracie opened up a gift first thing in the morning so she could put on her new birthday dress!  Doesn't she look adorable?!?

We wheeled out her gifts after dinner in her new wagon from Gramma and Deedad.  I don't know if she was more excited about the wagon or all the wrapped gifts.

Gracie could not wait for us to get her new baby doll out of its packaging.  She was beside herself over her new doll...until she saw the bottle...  :)

She loves her new wagon!

Happy girl!

Daddy and Mr. Korrey getting the new Pooh phone working.  It's a hit, Aunt Deetee!

The Pooh cake...revisited.  :)

Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!

And of course, trying out the new wagon this morning.  Gracie loves to be wheeled around and Reed happily obliges.

Visiting Ba in Tulsa

Reed had a great time visiting Ba in Tulsa. Gracie wasn't feeling well but she did have a good time despite having a 48 hr illness.

The new Holiday Inn hotel was awesome for $40 a night on priceline. I really liked the suite configuration so Reed and Gracie were able to sleep in the living room area. This allowed us to get a little bit of rest at night.
Since Grace was sick we wouldn't have gotten any sleep if we didn't have the separate room like we did.

See below a pic of Reed taking advantage of the new luggage ride, roller coaster.

We spent a lot of time at aunt Trang's house. When we first pulled up I told Reed... "Look at that car Reed! What kind of car did they get?!?" Emily responded "They got a Lotus!"

Man I was so impressed. I was thinking wow Reed's love of cars is really rubbing off on Emily and she must really be taking an interest in what he and I like.

When I asked Emily how she knew what kind of car it was she said..."It says Lotus really big right on the back of the car."

We had some good sushi at Fuji which Reed enjoyed. Gracie was a seaweed salad eating machine. Its funny how different they are considering Reed won't even touch anything that even remotely looks like a vegtable.

The ultimate was getting to go to aquarium in Jenks. The place was laid out well and had a good collection of fish from all over. One of Reed's favorite books talks about sharks so he has had a fear and fascination with sharks for a while.

He was even a little nervous standing in front of the shark statues at first. But in the end he was ready to sit by the sharks in the shark tank and pose for pictures.

Both kiddos really loved seeing the fish. The fish tanks really were arranged where the fish would swim real close to where you were standing.

Even Grace got to see the fish up close and personal.

In some cases a little too close. Here's a picture of an African snapping turtle that was about 4 feet long and humongous. I carried Gracie really close to him and she pretty much flipped out. Poor baby.

Reed really liked the tropical fish exhibit. Ba showed him all of the fish that she normally swims with. Reed really like the kind of angel fish that are Ba's buddies. When reading his book about fish when we got home on Friday night before bedtime Reed pointed out an angel fish and said "That's Ba's buddy"

Suddenly Reed saw ....two beady eyes.... it was a SHARK!
Actually it was a whole tank of sharks. Bull sharks and white sharts and nurse sharks.

Gracie wasn't happy enough to stay long enough for us to watch the shark feeding but we did get to see the sharks just fly by us as they circled us in the big shark tank.

So we went to the snack bar and got some snacks and decided to go back to the hotel for some much needed naptime.

Of course the day we get back home Gracie was all better and back to being all happy and Reed promptly got a fever and was sick. At least we knew what he was sick with.

Bathtime!

Grace is getting old enough to be able to take regular bath with Reed. Its as cute as can be with the two of them interacting and baths do go a little bit quicker as well too. Reed is still a very good big brother and Grace just loves Reed and laughs at everything he does.

Father and Son Camping trip

Reed had a great time on his first camping trip with Daddy.
Daddy was reluctant to go since it was so hot but Reed was so excited about sleeping in a tent. Fortunately is wasn't bad until we tried to go to sleep at night.
All in all we made it and had a great time.

Reed loved going in and out of the tent over and over and over again with his friends.

Reed found a "Reed" sized chair and really liked it. He only has full size chairs at home because for some strange reason the small chairs cost more than the full size chairs.

Another "specialty" chair that our friend had. But at least it made for a really cute picture

That's right... here's Reed in his Daddy's regular old chair. Reed just got out of the lake after swimming for a while so he was pretty tired.

Reed with Randy. Reed is loading up on juice before swimming so we could break the no eating before swimming rules.

Reed eating his mango Jello.

I was really impressed with the campgrounds. The campgrounds on this side of the lake were much prettier than the side that we normally launch from.
