Reed's First Day of School!!!

Reed started preschool yesterday! He was so excited - he couldn't stop talking about it all weekend. We know it will be great for him. He cried when Mommy dropped him off, but when I picked him up the teacher said he was the best kid she'd ever seen on the first day. He must have done well! He could not have started on a better day, either. The fire trucks came yesterday. When I picked him up, he couldn't stop telling me about how he got to get up into the fire truck. When I asked him what he learned about, he said, "fire trucks!" I think he had a good time. :) Here's a picture of him just before we left for school yesterday morning.

Mommy and Gracie had a great day too. Mommy got some extra work done around the house, and with Reed at school, Mommy and Gracie got a little extra time together too. :) That was nice. When she gets a little older we can have tea parties and play with dolls on school days. :)

Here are a couple recent pics of Gracie:

Great Aunt Paula Comes to Visit

This weekend Reed and Gracie's Great Aunt Paula came to visit. Reed loved getting to play with her. Gracie enjoyed meeting her for the first time and being held. That's our cuddly girl!

We all enjoyed getting to see Aunt Paula and catch up. We had a wonderful evening Saturday night at our favorite bakery for the new pizza night. The atmosphere was amazing - like Mommy's surprise birthday party last year! Of course the food was incredible. That goes without saying. :) Even though it was a short visit, it was very nice. Thanks for making the drive Aunt Paula!!!

This weekend Daddy picked up leaves (AGAIN) and left them in a big pile for Reed to play in them. Boy was that fun!

Reed and Gracie were also enjoying sleeping in Saturday morning. They love each other's company!

This Week

Just a quick update on what the kids were up to this week.

Reed and Mommy shared a pomegranate. Reed loved it, and it reminded Mommy of how Deedad used to do the same with her when she was little. We are carrying on the tradition!

Reed though he was pretty clever when he put his baby in Mommy's sling and put it on.

The kids love relaxing with Daddy and Mommy.

Gracie says, "Look at my cheeks!"

Gracie always has lots of visitors. Nobody comes to see Mommy and Daddy anymore. :)
Reed, being the boy that he is, had a small accident. It was nothing "Booboo bunny" could not fix. :)

Halloween 2009

We had a big day yesterday! We went down to Frisco, did some shopping, and made it back in time to celebrate Halloween. The kids were exhausted but ready to do some trick or treating. We took Reed to our friend and neighbors' house to show him what trick or treating is and then headed up to the church for Hallelujah Night. We had a great time!

Reed caught on very quickly to what he was supposed to do for trick or treating. Of course, there was candy involved!

Reed said "trick or treat" and "thank you", just like we practiced. :)

Reed got his stash and was ready to head up to Hallelujah Night.

Reed was more interested in playing with friends and eating his sucker than eating dinner.

Notice how Reed has a sucker in every picture.

Gracie was loving all the attention.

When we got home, Reed went through his stash. He was very proud of all of his candy. He didn't want to put it away at bedtime.

Reed got to pick his favorite candy and have one more piece before bed. He picked another sucker, of course! :)
